A search has been launched to find the next generation of male voice choir singers in the valleys.

The founder and musical director of male voice choir Only Men Aloud has launched a junior version called Only Boys Aloud.

Cats poisoned by anti-freeze in Brithdir

 

The RSPCA is investigating the deaths of two cats after the animals drank anti-freeze.

The cats, both eight-months-old, belonged to the same owner from Brithdir near New Tredegar.

110 motorists caught speeding in Caerphilly police crackdown

 

A police crackdown in Caerphilly County Borough saw 110 motorists prosecuted for speeding.

Officers on patrol in Risca, Ystrad Mynach, Blackwood and Rhymney arrested two wanted people and an illegal immigrant as well as seizing five vehicles without insurance.

Hengoed youth club celebrates first anniversary

A youth club set up by residents, Caerphilly County Borough Council and Gwent Police is celebrating its first anniversary.

Officers from the Ysrad Mynach Neighbourhood Policing Team joined forces with the council’s youth service and the Cefn Hengoed and Hengoed Communities First Partnership to create Hengoed Youth Club.

Second A468 crash in less than 10 hours

 

Police are investigating a second crash on the A468 Caerphilly bypass.

The latest crash happened yesterday at about 4.50pm near the Corbett’s roundabout – less than 10 hours after the first crash.

Council workers have been planting flags into the ground where dogs mess has been to highlight the problem.

The slightly bizarre approach to warning dog owners to pick up after their pooches is part of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s StreetPride scheme.

Popular and well-known in the community for his work, Independent councillor Mr Etheridge was first elected in 1999.

Police investigate A468 Caerphilly bypass crash

 

Police are appealing for witnesses after a two-car smash on the A468 Caerphilly bypass this morning.

The accident happened at 7am just after the St Cenydd roundabout heading towards the Corbetts roundabout.
