A wannabe opera singer from Caerphilly has been wowing the judges of Britain’s Got Talent.

Antonio Garcia, 20, auditioned for the show in Glasgow and was derided by the judges when he told them he was a karaoke singer.

Domestic abuse charity Caerphilly Women’s Aid has merged with homelessness charity Llamau.

Lindsay Markey, chair of Caerphilly Women’s Aid, said: “This merger is great news for Caerphilly Women’s Aid and for women and their families experiencing domestic abuse.

1,200 balloons to be launched from Bedwas

 

More than 1,200 balloons will be released into the air tomorrow at Bedwas Infants School.

The balloons will be released at 3.15pm from the school grounds and is part of a fundraising drive to improve the school’s facilities.

Swimming success for Coleg Gwent students

 

A group of Independent Living Skills (ILS) students have had success at a regional swimming gala recently.

The 14 students from Coleg Gwent’s Crosskeys campus took home nine gold, four silver and nine bronze medals at the International Pool in Cardiff.
