Caerphilly Council’s crackdown on noisy pubs

 

Pub landlords have been told to turn the volume down by Caerphilly County Borough Council.

The local authority has said that between March last year and March this year it dealt with 249 noise complaints about commercial premises.

Crackdown on illegal scrap metal traders in Risca

Illegal and unregistered scrap metal traders have been the subject of a crackdown by authorities.

Gwent Police’s Risca Neighbourhood Policing Team, the Vehicle and Operator Services Agency, the Environment Agency and Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Trading Standards team carried out checks on vehicles outside local scrap metal dealers during the recent one-day operation.

Caerphilly Castle Juniors FC completes Welsh FA scheme

 

Caerphilly Castle Juniors Football Club has been recognised in the FAW’s Club Accreditation scheme.

Seventeen other clubs from the Gwent area also achieved accreditation including Ebbw Vale Town Junior FC – which achieved a bronze level.

Councillors decide to close Ty Darran home in Risca

 

Camapigners fighting to save a nursing home from closure have lost their fight.

On Tuesday Caerphilly County Borough Council’s cabinet took the decision to close the Ty Darran care

Families and friends of the home’s eleven residents had been campaigning to save it, collecting a petition of more than 13,000 signatures and marching through Risca.
