Latest bus information from Stagecoach

Routes E3 & E4 to be replaced by a single service, Route E3.

From Monday 30th January 2012 Routes E3 and E4 are being replaced by a single service, Route E3. Unfortunately due to changes in traffic conditions as well as delays caused due to the Abertillery regeneration works and the time required to divert to serve Ysbyty Aneurin Bevan, it has not been possible to operate the services reliably, and our monitoring has shown that services have become progressively late during the day. It is therefore not possible to continue to operate the services in their current form. New Route E3 will operate from Brynmawr to Garn Lydan via Blaina, Abertillery, Aberbeeg, Cwm, Waunlwyd and Ebbw Vale and return. This service will continue to operate at an hourly frequency. Service E8 has also been incorporated into new Route E3, therefore passengers from the Garn Lydan and Rassau areas will benefit from an hourly through bus to the Hospital, Festival Shopping, Cwm and Aberbeeg. Whilst there will be some loss of accessibility between Brynmawr and Ebbw Vale, passengers wishing to travel directly between Brynmawr and Ebbw Vale will continue to be able to use the X4 service which operates at a 30 minute frequency
throughout the day.

Service changes from 9th January 2012.

Closure of Central Way at University Hospital of Wales (Heath Hospital)

Closure of Central Way, Heath Hospital until 2013

Due to work on the second phase of the Childrens’ Hospital at University Hospital of Wales, Central Way will be closed from Sunday 6 November for a period of approximately two years.

As a result, routes and stops will need to be changed.

Buses travelling towards Cardiff will enter the hospital from Gabalfa and stop at the Gateway (near A & E).  In this direction, buses will stop in Rhydhelig Avenue only. All other stops at the hospital will not be served.

From Cardiff, the only stops served at the hospital will be the Gateway (opposite A & E, outside the car park) and at Academic Avenue near the Dental Hospital.

A guide detailing the new stop arrangements is available by clicking here.
