Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall regeneration plans to be discussed
Senior councillors from Caerphilly County Borough Council will meet with trustees from Caerphilly Workmen’s Hall this week to discuss options for how the building could be regenerated.
Cllr Ron Davies, cabinet member for regeneration and planning, Cllr Lindsay Whittle, leader of the council and Cllr Phil Bevan, local ward member and cabinet member for education, will meet to discuss ideas for how the hall can play a greater role within Caerphilly town.
Cllr Davies said: “We are keen to meet with trustees of the hall to look into ways in which we as a council can work more collaboratively with the local community, and look at ways in which the hall could be even better utilised by residents of the town and surrounding villages.
“It is pleasing to note the resolve of so many residents to help restore the hall to its former glory and as a venue for community events, and we are committed to assist in any way we are able to ensure this is able to come to fruition.”Follow @CaerphillyObsvr
