Police appeal after girl, 11, knocked down by car in Wattsville

Gwent Police has appealed for information after an 11-year-old girl was knocked over as she crossed a road.

The girl was crossing Islwyn Road in Wattsville at 7.50am on Thursday when she was struck by a silver coloured vehicle.

She was taken to the Royal Gwent Hospital in Newport but is not seriously injured.

Gwent Police would like to speak to the woman driver of the vehicle, who did stop but did not leave her details.

She is described as in her 30s with blonde hair.
