Man arrested after he reportedly stepped in front of a bus in Maesycymmer

A 36-year-old local man was arrested and cautioned after reportedly stepping out in front of a bus in Maesycymmer.

A witness, who did not want to be named, said the Stagecoach bus was travelling slowly when the man stepped into the path of it.

A Gwent Police spokesman said: “Officers were called to a Road Traffic Collision involving a bus and a pedestrian on Main Road, Maesycwmmer, on Wednesday May 30 at approximately 1.45pm.

“The pedestrian, a 36-year-old local man, was arrested and cautioned for endangering a road user by interfering with a motor vehicle.

“The man suffered minor injuries to his arms but did not require hospital treatment.”

  • A 25-year-old woman from Cardiff was taken to the Heath Hospital with suspected neck injuries when the silver Vauxhall Corsa she was driving crashed on Mountain Road, Caerphilly, at about 9.15pm on Thursday May 30.
