Joe Calzaghe makes début on Strictly Come Dancing

Newbridge boxing legend Joe Calzaghe has made it through to the next round of TV show Strictly Come Dancing.

Calzaghe, who retired in February with an unbeaten record of 46 professional fights, impressed the judges enough to avoid becoming the first celebrity to be voted off the show.

That honour went to former tennis star Martins Hingis.

Joe and dance partner Kristina Rihanoff performed a Cha Cha to Eva Cassidy’s version of “Chain of Fools”.
