Caerphilly Council spends £300,000 on new road gritters

Caerphilly County Borough Council has purchased three new road gritters worth £100,000 each in preparation for the upcoming winter months.
The new road gritters will replace three older vehicles.
Cllr Tom Williams, cabinet member responsible for highways, transportation and engineering, said: “We are committed to providing the best possible services to the people that we represent, and purchasing these modern gritters as a replacement for the old vehicles will allow us to do just that. With the best machinery the best services can be achieved, allowing all road users continued use of our highways, even in the worst weather conditions.”
Each new vehicle is equipped with computerised maps, and an automatic release system, allowing drivers to follow each route more easily and reducing the distraction of the driver having to manually manage the spreading equipment while driving.
Good to see that the Labour Council are determined to keep the borough open and in business during the winter.

Nice to see they are all ready for the snow this year.
I recently had to contact the council and had a email reply saying it will be dealt with within 5 working days,so I waited for the 5 days then contacted them again this time they replied with the following
The five working day target message has been generated in error and this is a process that can take several months due to the large number of requests that we receive.
