CDs, DVDs, games, books and consoles can now be recycled in media banks at each of Caerphilly County Borough Council’s Household Waste Recycling Centres.

Items placed in the Media Banks will be sent for reuse or recycling and saved from Landfill.

Cllr David Poole, cabinet member for community and leisure services, said: “This is a great scheme that will help remain one of the leading authorities for recycling in Wales, and we encourage residents to make use of the media banks instead of throwing items in the bin. Residents can donate any old books, CDs, games and DVDs by placing them into the media banks at any of the six Household Waste Recycling Centres.”

The media banks are provided as part of the regional textile bank contractual agreement between the South Wales Waste Management Group and JMP Wilcox.
