Flowers for Senghenydd’s National Mining Memorial
The Welsh National Mining Memorial Garden in Senghenydd has been awarded funding from food company Peter’s Pies.
The Aber Valley Heritage Group, which raised funds for the memorial, was successful in their bid for £250 for new plant pots and plants from Wales’ premier pie-maker.
The site was officially opened on October 14 last year to mark the 100th anniversary of the Senghenydd mining disaster.
Jack Humphreys, Chair of the Aber Valley Heritage Group said: “The new planters and flowers are a wonderful addition to the memorial and will help protect the grassy areas.
“We would like to thank Peter’s.”
