Caerphilly Council worker wins Apprentice of the Year

A waste worker from Newbridge has scooped the Apprentice of the Year award at Cardiff museum.

Michael Fitzpatrick who works from Tir-y-Berth depot received the accolade after completing a Level Two Sustainable Resources Foundation Apprenticeship.

He has worked for Caerphilly County Borough Council for nine years and since completing the 12 month course holds an NVQ, VRQ and Essential Skills in Communication and Application of Number along with 60 of his colleagues
